Senate Bill 2 established TEFA or the Texas Education Freedom Accounts program to help families access funds for approved education expenses outside public schools in Texas starting the 2026-2027 school year. 

Parents may choose the educational environment that best fits their child, and TEFA funds can be used for a variety of education related cost, such as uniforms, textbooks, school meals, and other instructional resources.
